Introduction to SS EN 1090-1:2018 & SS EN 1090-2:2018
SS EN 1090-1&2:2018 was jointly launched by BCA/SAC in January 2019 and the transition period for the implementation is 2 years commencing from 1 June 2019 to 31 May 2021.
The SS EN 1090-1&2:2018 is a structural steel fabrication quality management system adopted from the BS EN 1090-1:2009+A1:2011 and BS EN 1090-2:2008+A1:2011.
The SS EN 1090-1&2:2018 is to harmonize structural steel fabrication for structural steel fabricators both locally and overseas.
Structural steel fabricators (Main Developer that possesses the BCA Specialist Builder Licence for Structural Steelworks and Singapore Structural Steel Society (SSSS) categorized S1 to S4) with their own steel fabrication/manufacturing workshop (local or oversea) will be required (MANDATORY) to be accessed and certified to the Factory Production Control (FPC) Certification for Structural Steel Fabrication by Certification Body accredited to SAC.
